Lotus 78 (1977-78)

1977 saw the arrival of the Lotus 78 (aka The John Player Special Mk III also known as 'The Wing Car'), and the beginnings of "ground effect" into Formula 1. Mario Andretti and Gunnar Nilsson drove the predecessor to a car which would wipe the floor with the rest of the field. One of the main differences between the two cars, were the Lotus 78's twin air intakes either side of the driver's head. These would be moved into the wing on the Lotus 79.

Is the JPS livery the best ever?
